Under the theme <em>transreal<\/em>,\u00a0the festival will open its doors for eleven days, from May 8 to May 18, 2025. Featuring outstanding contemporary music at new and significant art venues in Potsdam \u2013 <strong>DAS MINSK Kunsthaus, Museum Barberini, and museum FLUXUS+<\/strong> \u2013 the festival continues its dialogue with other art forms. Additionally, a special concert will take place at <strong>Palais Lichtenau.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contemporary chamber music meets visual art.<\/strong> With a focus on string quartets (Neo, Kairos, Sonar) and the chamber orchestra ART Ensemble NRW, as well as other top international ensembles in a total of 20 concerts, performances and installations (including Black Pencil, LUX:NM, and El Perro Andaluz), the festival fosters interaction with visual artists. Spaces are shaped \u2013 musical, sonic, real, surreal, virtual \u2013 transreal.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The latest technological advancements<\/strong> in new media and the revolutionization of work processes through AI are creating unprecedented opportunities\u2014and risks. This raises fresh questions about individual perspectives: Does this lead to a new personal reality, virtuality, or even a parallel world?<\/p>\n<p>In a <strong>panel discussion<\/strong> led by Prof. Dr. Ulrike Liedtke, composers, artists, and experts\u2014including current Musikfonds fellows\u2014will share their experiences with AI tools and the media of today and tomorrow, engaging in a thought-provoking debate.<\/p>\n<p>To mark the anniversary edition, a documentary on <strong>25 years of intersonanzen<\/strong> will be presented.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>opening day on May 8, 2025<\/strong>, marks the <strong>80th anniversary of the end of the war<\/strong>\u2014or, as it was often called in the past, the <strong>Day of Liberation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To commemorate this occasion, we have invited <strong>Nele Hertling<\/strong> for a conversation. She is the daughter of composer <strong>Hanning Schr\u00f6der<\/strong>, whose family hid a Jewish couple in their home during the Nazi era, saving them from certain death. For the first time, it is possible to reproduce the entire spatial impression of the recording situation accurately and realistically with four speakers. As a result, listeners feel as though they are right in the middle of the space where the music is being created.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Concert Gerschlauer-Ullmann <\/strong><em>Murals<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In their sound paintings, Gerschlauer | Ullmann explore the sonic positionality of microtonality and improvised music.
